We were contacted by the client of this lovely property in Frittenden, Kent to replace the external Windows and Doors from the old drafty single glazed which had definitely seen better days to new Accoya Double glazed.

The Main aim of the project was to make sure that the design of the Joinery was in keeping with the buildings aesthetics and age but with modern manufacturing techniques so that there would be no more drafts and help reduce the overall household heating bill.

After Discussions with the client it was decided that Accoya would be the ideal timber to be used due the fact that it suffers from minimal movements and the resistance it has from rotting. Accoya also when accompanied with the Sikkens paint system that we use also gives a fantastic finish along with great durability.

As previously mentioned the old windows were single glazed which didn’t provide much benefit when it comes to thermal ratings. The client wanted to keep the style the same but use double glazed units, to do this we had duplex units made with an integral bar which when paired with the timber plant on bars gives the illusion of individual panes in the traditional styling but it is indeed made from one single pane. This has now helped reduce the household heating bill dramatically.
